This low-mounding, evergreen perennial forms tufts of grass-like foliage topped by globular flowers. Mostly available in white and pink, Thrift will grow to between 6" and 30" tall, depending on the variety. Blooming between late spring and late summer, some for four weeks or more, you're sure to find one that suits your needs!
The maritima splendens variety has a great copper tolerance, so if you went a little overboard with the copper fungicide trying to prevent late blight, this is a great perennial to plant in that area. Maritima splendens is also salt tolerant, making it a great choice near the road where snow plowing can render the area too salty for many plants.
