Astilbe (False Spirea)

Astilbe forms an attractive mound of finely dissected foliage with soft, feathery flower spikes.

There are a number of different varieties that bloom in summer or late summer in shades of pink, purple, white and red.  The spiked blooms will reach from 12-36" tall, depending on the variety.

Sun exposure: part shade

Characteristics: butterfly and hummingbird attractant, deer resistant, lends itself to cut flowers
