Baptisia (False Indigo)
A long-lived, bushy perennial with abundant blooms, Baptisia has blue-green foliage topped by short spikes of indigo-blue, pea-like flowers.  It is excellent for back of the border.

Australis varieties bloom from late spring to early summer and grow 36-48" tall.

Sun exposure: full sun

Characteristics: deer repellant, lends itself to cut flowers
