Bleeding Heart (Dicentra)
With deeply cut, bluish-green leaves, and heart-shaped flowers that dangle from long, arching stems, Dicentra makes a great accent, border or container plant.

Depending on the variety, Bleeding Heart will bloom in shades of pink, white and red, and will grow from 12-36" tall.  Bloom times vary widely by selection, but a number of varieties offer several weeks, if not a few months, of color.

This plant will tolerate full sun but prefers part shade.  We find that the flowers last much longer when partly shaded.

Sun requirements: part shade to full sun

Characteristics: deer resistant
