Dogwood

Bailey’s Red Twig Dogwood (sericea ‘Baileyi’)

  • 6-8’ tall x 9-10’ wide
  • A beacon in the winter landscape with its bright red stems, this selection is also easy to grow and tolerant of poor soils, wet areas and the coldest climates
  • Great for massing, this selection has good red-purple fall color, and should be trimmed yearly to remove old growth

Celestial Hybrid Dogwood (c. florida, c. kousa cross)

  • 20-25’ tall x 18-22’ wide
  • Early to mid-May bloom (early stage greenish-white flowers)
  • Tough and hardy, resistant to borer and anthranose
  • Purplish-red fall foliage

Cherokee Brave Dogwood (florida rubra)

  • 25-30’ tall x 25-35’ wide
  • Deep red blooms, large red berries, season-long deep green foliage, burgundy red fall color
  • Very resistant to powdery mildew

Ivory Halo Dogwood (alba)

  • 5-6’ tall x 6-8’ wide
  • Cream-edged variegated foliage and bright red twigs
  • Enhances the winter landscape
  • Slightly more compact Dogwood that’s perfect for smaller spaces

Wolf Eyes Chinese Dogwood (kousa)

  • 6-9’ tall x 10-12’ wide
  • Late May bloom lasting up to six weeks
  • Creamy, white, star-shaped blossoms on top of foliage with a white band surrounding a deep green center

Yellowtwig Dogwood (sericea ‘Flaviramea’)

  • 6-8’ tall x 9-10’ wide
  • A winter landscape wonder, this tough, adaptable selection displays a wondrous, bright yellow twig color that will add a shot of warmth into any cold, snowy space
  • A great plant for massing in poor soils or moist areas and is a great plant for attracting birds to the landscape
  • Hardy, strong growing, excellent fall foliage color
  • Remove old growth on a regular basis
