Bell Flower (Campanula) - several varieties bloom in shades of blue and white from June through August or September.

Bleeding Heart (Dicentra) - Eximia variety has blood-red blooms from April through October; Luxuriant variety has cherry-red blooms from April through October.

Cupid's Dart (Catananche) - Caerulea variety has blue flowers from June through September.

Delphinium (Pacific Giants Larkspur) - several varieties have blue or white spires that bloom in summer.

Heuchera (Coral Bells) - a few varieties of this perennial have fantastic reddish foliage and tall flower shoots.

Hollyhocks - red or white flowers bloom in summer.

Iris - Germanica and Siberica varieties bloom in early to mid-summer in shades of red, white and blue.

Jacob's Ladder (Polemonium) - in shades of blue and white, several varieties bloom in early to mid-summer.

Lobelia (Cardinal Flower) - a number of red and white varieties bloom from June to September.

Lupine - available in red, white and blue; flowers bloom in June and July.

Salvia (Meadow Sage) - several varieties bloom in summer in shades of blue and red.

Veronica (Speedwell) - blue and white summer blooms are found on several varieties.

Volcano Phlox - This upright perennial can be found in a few red shades and is long-blooming. Not to be confused with the 'creeping' ground cover phlox.

Yarrow (Achillea) - choose from several summer blooms of red and white flowers.
