Harry Lauder's Walking Stick (Corylus)

Walking Sticks are in the Filbert or Hazelnut family, although this particular variety is ornamental.

Harry Lauder’s Walking Stick (avellana ‘Contorta’)

  • 10-12’ tall x 10-12’ wide
  • Distinctive, twisted, curled growth that is particularly showy in winter
  • Long, pendulous catkins in early spring
  • An excellent choice for a novelty specimen plant
  • Easy to grow, prune root suckers regularly to maintain contorted stem form

Red Majestic Harry Lauder’s Walking Stick (avellana ‘Red Majestic’)

  • 10-12’ tall x 10-12’ wide
  • Same as the original Walking Stick but with deep red foliage
  • Plant in full sun for the best color and allow plenty of room to grow
