Heuchera (Coral Bells or Alumroot)

Some know this attractive perennial as coral bells or alumroot.  It has heart-shaped, slightly toothed foliage.  Long-lasting, bell-shaped flowers are borne on wiry stems.


Varieties:

Checkers - creamy white flowers, May-July bloom, 24" tall

Citronelle - bright lemon yellow foliage tinged with green, bell-shaped white flowers, July-September bloom, 8-10" tall

Dale's Strain - greenish white foliage, spring to summer bloom, 14" tall

Dolce Creme Brulee - bronze foliage with deep purple veins, creamy white bell-shaped flowers, July bloom, 12-15" tall

Frosted Violet - sharply edged, maple-like foliage in a striking pinkish purple shade with darker veining; aggressively spreading to a mature size of 10-12" tall x 24-30" wide; tall spikes of light pink flowers bloom late May through July.

Palace Purple - white flowers, summer bloom 18" tall

Plum Pudding - plum-purple foliage with silver veins, mid-June bloom, 10-20" tall

Sun: very adaptable from full sun to shade
