Hosta (Plantain Lily)

Commonly known as the Plantain Lily, Hosta forms clumps of large leaves in all imaginable colors, textures and shapes.  It's excellent as a border, accent or mass planting with pale lavender or white flowers borne on tall stalks in summer.

Varieties:

Every season we try to carry at least two varieties each of the plain green or greenish blue leaf, yellow-edged leaf and white-edged leaf.

The specific cultivars that we receive from our grower changes often, so if there is a particular variety you are looking for, give us a call and we can try to locate it for you.

Selections vary in size from 20-30" in height and 24-48" in width.  Non-variegated hostas will do well in anything from full sun to nearly full shade, while the white and yellow edged varieties will tolerate part shade to full sun.  These plants do not do well in standing water, so moist, well-drained soil is best for these fairly easy growing plants.
