Oriole Gardening
If you'd like to attract birds to your garden, you will enjoy the most success by providing not only food, but shelter and nesting material, as well.  Visit our page on Bird Gardening for a list of plants that are particularly attractive to all species of birds.

Specifically, if you would like to attract orioles, in addition to providing good nesting and shelter material with your plant choices, try offering your feathered vistors the following:

Food: sugar water, orange halves and grape jelly; if using a feeder for the sugar water, choose an orange color for best results

Water: any birdbath or small water feature will do the trick

Habitat: backyards and gardens with large, deciduous trees; no birdhouses are necessary
