What does this guarantee mean?
If the tree or shrub that you bought from us dies within one year of your purchase, you can return it for a new one at 50% off the current marked price. You must bring the original register receipt with the Tree & Shrub guarantee printed at the bottom, or the handwritten receipt you received at the time of purchase. Without the receipt, we can not accept your return. In exchange, you may purchase any tree or shrub of equal or lesser value to the original for 50% off the current tag price. If you purchase the same tree or shrub as the one you returned, the new plant will not receive another guarantee.
I think my plant is dead. What do I do?
Do not do anything until you can be sure the plant is completely dead. Often times, people assume their plants are dead when they do not perk up in the early spring, but some winters, even if they do not seem particularly tough to us, are rough on our plants. If a tree or shrub does not come back in the spring, bend the branches and stems slightly. If they are still pliable, leave the plant alone and give it time to regenerate; if the plant is completely brittle, make sure there are no signs of new growth coming from the base of the plant and bring it in for your guaranteed replacement. When in doubt, give us a call – we would be happy to help.
What doesn't the guarantee cover?
Our guarantee only covers trees and shrubs. Perennial and annual plants are not covered. Also, trees and shrubs killed by improper watering, planting or maintenance are not covered. Likewise, plants killed by extreme acts of nature (i.e., hurricanes, tornadoes, floods) are not covered under our guarantee. Plants damaged or killed by accidents such as falling objects, collisions or some kind of deliberate damage are also not covered.
How do I know if my plant is covered under the guarantee?
If one of your purchases is covered by our guarantee, your register generated receipt will have a tree & shrub guarantee note on the bottom, or you will receive a handwritten receipt that notes the plant covered under the guarantee. Only if you have one of these receipts can you return your purchase.
How do I get a replacement?
Bring both the tree or shrub and the hand-written guarantee receipt listing the tree or shrub back to our store to redeem your guarantee. The guarantee receipt must be dated no more than one year before the date of return for the exchange to be valid.
