Spirea (Spiraea) 

Anthony Waterer (bumalda)

  • 3-4’ tall x 5-6’ wide
  • Foliage flushes with a pink tinge before turning blue-green
  • Flowers emerge rose-red in flat heads in late June 
  • Dense growing and attractive

Goldmound (bumalda)

  • 2-3’ tall x 4-5’ wide
  • Bright yellow foliage throughout the spring and summer make this an outstanding accent plant; fall color is pinkish red
  • Flowers are pink in June and July
  • Very compact habit

Neon Flash (bumalda)

  • 2-3’ tall x 4-5’ wide
  • Deep green foliage has a hint of burgundy lining the leaf edge and turns burgundy-red in the fall
  • Profuse heads of electric reddish-pink flowers bloom in mid-June and continue into late July
  • Tough, durable and attractive; easy care selection is very happy in full sun

Goldflame (japonica)

  • 2-3’ tall x 3-4’ wide
  • Begins the season with bronzy to reddish foliage in the early spring that changes to a lemony green shade in the summer, then to a coppery gold in fall
  • Crimson blooms appear in early summer on sizable, flattened flower heads; deadhead regularly for continuous blooming through early fall

Little Princess (japonica)

  • 2-3’ tall x 4-5’ wide
  • Impressive bright pink flowers bloom from late June through July
  • Easy care and vigorous growing; dense and mound forming

Mellow Yellow (thunbergii ‘Ogon’)

  • 4-5’ tall x 4-5’ wide
  • Graceful and arching, this selection is loaded with white flowers in mid to late April before the foliage appears
  • Attractive throughout the summer with a bright yellow foliage display
