Veggies & Herbs

As a general rule, we are sold out of greenhouse vegetables by mid-June.  Since most veggies should be planted by the first week in June, we usually don’t reorder much past the middle of May.

However, do keep in mind that several vegetables can be planted in late summer for a fall harvest just before Thanksgiving.  Cabbage, lettuce, spinach, radishes and carrots are all cold hardy and will even taste better when harvested after a frost!  Spinach and lettuce should be started by seed, but the others can be planted by seed or by the six-pack if there are still any left from early summer.

Early in the season, we carry at least six varieties of big tomatoes, plus grape and cherry tomatoes, several types of lettuces, cucumbers, cabbage, squash, broccoli, cauliflower and celery, as well as a variety of herbs and melons.  We also carry a huge assortment of seeds in our store.
